South Fork Mile Trail

Length: 1.55 miles  |  Elevation Gain: 90.2 feet  |

Beautiful waterfalls characterize the Alsea Falls Recreation area. Visitors can hike or mountain bike on many miles of trails through second growth forests. The site also features a picnic area and campground (fees apply).

Somewhat more than a mile in truth, the level multi-use South Fork Mile Trail follows the north bank of the Alsea River from the recreation area to a trailhead with limited parking upstream. Midway, a bridge crosses the river to the campground. For an easy loop, follow the South Fork Mile Trail upstream from the recreation area and return on the Alsea Falls Trail on the south bank.
