Green Peak Falls Trail

Length: 1.09 miles  |  Elevation Gain: 98.6 feet  |

Beautiful waterfalls characterize the Alsea Falls Recreation area. Visitors can hike or mountain bike on many miles of trails through second growth forests. The site also features a picnic area and campground (fees apply).

For hikers only due to some steep stairs, this trail leads from the Alsea Falls recreation area to Green Peak Falls on tributary Peak Creek, arguably more beautiful than the falls on the Alsea River. A good day hike, the trail follows the river to McBee Park, a private park owned by Hull-Oakes Lumber, then continues for a short distance along Peak Creek to the falls. To stay on the route, avoid crossing creeks. Turn right at the faded "Green Peak Falls" sign just before the road crosses Peak Creek, and on the return be sure to turn left here and then left again onto a spur road before the main McBee road crosses the Alsea River. For a shorter hike to the falls, start at McBee Park. Call Hull-Oakes at 541-424-3112 for reservations.
