At less than one tenth of a mile in length with little to no elevation gain, this hiker-only trail leads visitors from the road to Sulphur Springs. Upon arrival, visitors have the opportunity to stop and watch as the springs bubble and then flow into Soap Creek. Sulphur Springs is a mineral water springs and the only one of its kind near Corvallis. Sulphur Springs Trail passes through an area of McDonald Forest that is managed for high-quality wood products. This area of the forest demonstrates plantations with moderately long rotations that emphasize growing high-quality Douglas-fir wood. The wood produced in this area is used mainly for exposed beams and other high-quality structural products. Located at the end of a trail spur is a picnic table where visitors can pause to chat, read, eat, or simply enjoy nature. An interpretive sign is located along the trail detailing the history of the site as a recreation area. In the spring, wildflowers bloom in the meadow here. Be sure to stop by and enjoy the beauty and history of this area!
