A hiker-only trail located near the west parking lot in Peavy Arboretum, Sequoia Trail is just under one tenth of a mile in length with little to no elevation gain. Sequoia Trail passes through a thick grove of giant sequoias and redwoods, offering visitors an opportunity to stop and marvel at the sight of these magnificent trees. Identification posts with common and scientific names are located in front of trees along this trail.
As the trail continues, it opens up to incense-cedar and Port-Orford-cedar, as well as various species of pine and fir. Interpretation is located along this trail with information regarding sequoias and redwoods. Be on the lookout for purple larkspur and red columbine during the spring!
