Treat yourself, friends and family to this beautiful, easily accessible higher elevation Natural Area with a trail system that affords panoramic views of the mid and South Willamette Valley. Framed by the Cascade Mountains to the east and Mary's Peak and Coast Range to the west, this gem of a trail winds around the South Meadow, providing the hiker with a variety of unobstructed views. The trailside vegetation gives strong clues to both the wind force and direction. The meadow contains a variety of seasonal wildflowers typical to Willamette Valley upland meadows. This trail loops back to the parking area located at the end of Panorama Drive or offers the option on connecting with the North South Trail. This loop segment was dedicated to the memory of Allen Throop in 2005 to honor his vision, leadership and commitment to open space.
